Dance Magazine has become the bible of Capezio tight-clad women and men everywhere. The publication is a wealth of information on the dancing world. This magazine is the place to turn for up-to-the-minute information and inspiring articles. Their editors have just announced the four winners of their annual Dance Magazine Awards, who were honored on December 3rd of this year.
Here are the four winners of the 2012 Dance Magazine Awards: Julie Kent, Renee Robinson, Dianne Walker and Anna Kisselgoff.
We will devote a post to each for the next 4 weeks. First up, Julie Kent.
Julie Kent has been wowing audiences for 26 years, which is practically unheard of in the dance world. Her longevity can be attributed to her talent, stamina, hard work and intelligence. Having risen through the ranks at the American Ballet Theater, she is now a senior ballerina and has demonstrated the ability to excel in nearly every ballerina role out there. She has stunned critics with her performances in The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Swan Lake and over two dozen others. She has earned numerous awards, including a medal at the Prix de Lausanne and the Erik Bruhn Prize. Beyond being a dancer, Kent manages to be a dutiful mother to two young children and has been featured in the films Center Stage and Dancers. Needless to say, every time she slips on her Bloch dance shoes, you are in for a treat!
